Terms of Service

1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of cat-stay.com (“CatStay”, “we”). By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you do not agree, please do not use CatStay.

2. What CatStay is

CatStay is a platform where cat owners (“Owners”) find people who look after cats (“Sitters”) and arrange care directly with them.

CatStay is not a party to agreements between users. We do not provide pet care, and we do not employ, supervise or control Sitters, who act independently and on their own responsibility.

3. Your account

• You must be at least 18 years old.
• Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
• One account per person; do not share it or create accounts for others without their permission.
• Keep your password secret. You are responsible for what happens in your account.

4. Bookings and payments

A booking is an agreement between the Owner and the Sitter only. CatStay does not currently process payments: users pay each other directly, using methods they agree between themselves. The payment plan shown on a booking is for information only.

CatStay does not receive or hold these funds and is not responsible for payments, refunds, expenses or disputes about them.

5. Owners’ responsibilities

• Give accurate and complete information about your cat’s health, behaviour, vaccinations, medication and special needs.
• Provide what was agreed, such as food for the whole stay, litter, medication and your vet’s contacts.
• Make sure your cat is fit to be cared for by someone else.

6. Sitters’ responsibilities

• Care for the cats as agreed and follow the Owner’s reasonable instructions.
• Keep your home or the place of care safe and suitable for cats.
• Comply with applicable laws, including animal welfare, tax, business registration and insurance requirements.

7. No verification

CatStay does not verify the identity, qualifications, experience, premises or reliability of users. Signing in with Google confirms only control of that Google account. Profiles, photos and reviews come from users, and we do not guarantee that they are accurate.

Meet in advance, ask questions and decide for yourself whether to entrust your cat or accept a booking.

8. Your content

You keep the rights to the photos, texts and other content you post. You grant CatStay a free, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to store, display and adapt for display (for example, resize) this content on the service, in search results and on public pages, for as long as it stays on the service.

You confirm that you have the right to post the content, and that people shown in your photos agree to it.

9. What is not allowed

• False information or pretending to be someone else.
• Harassment, threats, hate speech or discrimination.
• Illegal content or activities, including animal cruelty and selling animals.
• Spam and advertising without our permission.
• Fraud, including luring users off the platform to deceive them.
• Scraping, attacking or bypassing the security of the service.
• Using other users’ data for anything other than a booking.

10. Risks and liability

Caring for animals involves risks, including illness, injury, escape, damage to property and, in rare cases, death of an animal.

The service is provided free of charge and “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, CatStay is not liable for the acts of users, for harm to animals, for damage or losses arising from bookings, or for interruptions of the service.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent or gross negligence, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or the rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.

11. Reports, suspension and termination

Report illegal content or abuse to privacy@cat-stay.com. We review every report and tell the reporter about our decision.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these terms or the law, or to protect users and animals. Where possible, we tell you the reason and how to contest it.

You may stop using CatStay and ask us to delete your account at any time.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. We will inform registered users before significant changes take effect. If you continue to use CatStay after that, the new terms apply.

13. Applicable law

These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory law of your country of residence and may bring claims before its courts.
